Foreign is a word related many sides. It includes foreign goods, foreign language, sometimes it defends as stranger. The dictionary said that: foreign is a characteristic of a country or language other than one’s own. Second meaning is strange and unfamiliar. For instance, you do not know someone or you go to another country you do not realize it very much, it is also defines as foreign. In a word, foreign is not only a word to describe person or things from other area, but also means something you do not know. (Because when I learn it from my high school, I only realized the meaning of “foreign” as a something from others)

So I hold the opinion there are two mean parts in the meaning of foreign. The first is dealing with or relating to other countries, and coming or introduce from outside. In that case, when we face the situation of the many goods from other country that we never know them before, some people will getting to fit it, others will try to avoid it. Here come two examples:

When I first get in touch with the western food, I fell strange and not familiar at all because it is so different with Chinese food. I still remember the first time I have lunch at McDonald when I was 7 years old, I never forget that taste. It is a foreign food and in attracts me very much; so that I want try it to get more experience.

However, not everyone can accept the foreign food or else easily like my mother. At first she did not like MacDonald like me. She was just complaining about the food that tastes horrible and salty. While after two years, she eats MacDonald everyday and also bought it for me. She never complains it any more. Thus, some people can accept foreign things quickly but others will take a long time to adapt it.

When we considered the something from other countries as a definition of foreign, do not forget other meaning-strange and unfamiliar. In my view, I considered something is strange to me or I never heard or touch it before also can defined as foreign even it is in your country or near you so much.

Like the story a place so foreign, we learned these days, not only tells that James went to another place or back to another time, but also give us a express that that place is a strange area  for James after a read the whole article because it is different from his own place. In that story, James’s life has changed a lot and he experiences many differences at there.  Because James did not go to another country at that time, he just back to 1975 and get in touch some new things. From this article, I can realize that foreign is used wildly as the definition of stranger.

SUMMARY OF “A PLACE SO FOREIGN”

The story of “A place so foreign” is written by crony Doctorow. It tells us a story about the author’s father was disappeared and he back to 1975 as a student. His mother let him to study and take him to school. But James fells so boring and he found that the knowledge he has already learned. At that time he met Mr. Adeson, who became his teacher in his class. And give him an F in this class. James cannot understand and his mother fells very unhappy about this. So James go to Mr. Adeson’s office and ask him why. Mr. Adeson tells him he should learn something new. So James started to read his father’s book. When the Christmas coming, James was told his mother wants married a man named Johnson. James fells unhappy about that because he cannot forget his father. Once, he back to 1889 and cannot return to 1975, he went to the police and his mother take his go back to 1975. Then he found that his mother married with Johnson. And his teacher quite his job and be a sailor. Then he found a man and he tells James he will get a lot of money. James decided to get that money and to be a sailor with his teacher travel around the world.

So Hildegarge went to another country
After Benjamin grows up, he decided work on the ship and met the captain Mike, and had a great time with him	In article, it tells that Benjamin wants to go to Yale and refused by that university.
the Benjamin and daisy have born a girl in the movie	in the article, Benjamin and Hildegarge born a son and Benjamin let his son to take care his company at the last.
. The story article said that is Benjamin had attended the war in order to escape the worse relationship between he and his wife	In the movie, Benjamin did not attend the war but he met the war when he works in the boat.

 

Ways the movie and the story are the same

THE DEFFERENT STORY OF BENJIAMIN’S BETWEEN MOVIE AND ARTICLE

The article and movie that “the curious case of Benjamin button” tell about the story about Benjamin’s whole life. Benjamin was born as a old man and then he getting younger and younger. The book was written by F.Scott Fitzgerald. And the movie was directed by David Fincher the story in the movie is based on the book. The director adds more new details in that film. While the book and movie have some similarities, they are quiet different in many ways, Such as the time occurs in the movie and the book, Benjamin’s childhood, Benjamin’s job, Benjamin’s marriage, Benjamin’s family and Benjamin’s experience.

In the movie and the book, they both tell a story about Benjamin button. When the boy was born, he looks like an old man. And then, he started getting younger and younger than before. At last, Benjamin did not even lose his memories like a baby. Benjamin was married in both film and article. When he grew up, his father left the company to him in order to let Benjamin to take care.

However, there are more differences between the movie and the story. Firstly, the two stories of Benjamin occurred the deferent time between article and movie. In the movie, the story of Benjamin happened at the end of the Great War. Instead, in the article, it happened in while the civil war happened. In the book, the article tells a story in the side of writer. In the movie, they tell story in a flashback sequence. The first is the shoot is a old woman who tells a story about Benjamin button with a diary.

Secondly, the child hood that Benjamin experience is totally deferent between book and movie. Book said that Benjamin was take care by his father all the time. But in the movie Benjamin was abandon by his father because his father do not want everybody talk about him. Then, Benjamin was adopting by a pair of couple who open a nurse home and grows up with the old man and woman. Finally, his father found him.

Furthermore, Benjamin and daisy have born a girl in the movie. However, in the article, Benjamin and Hildegarge born a son and Benjamin let his son to take care his company at the last.

Benjamin’s experience of war is difference between story and movie. The story article said that is Benjamin had attended the war in order to escape the worse relationship between him and his wife. In the movie, Benjamin did not attend the war but he met the war when he works in the boat.

In conclusion, movie and the story of Benjamin button had a lot of deference although the movie direct based on the article. the movie are more interesting and had a rich plot. And it tells more details about Benjamin’s story. It makes people know that whatever how is your grow style like, you have to try something new and make more progress and get more experience. Just like button. If you have more expect to your future. Your life will be more enjoyable.

My goal and how I will achieve it

My goal and how I will achieve it

I have been ENMU for a mouth and I realize a lot of principles. And I change my goal that made it in china. Now, my goal is to be a Diplomatist. This job is hard to get and you have to grasp many kinds of languages. Now, I study in ENMU and I have to make my dream come true step by step.

1^{st STEP}: learning English

First, English is important to me and this language is basic of other languages. It is a international tools to communicate with others. This language also uses wildly in many countries and to be the first language in their hometown. Such like American, England, and Singapore. If I speak English fluently, I will be the diplomatist to get in touch with each English speaking countries and I can choose the Embassy that I want to stay to get more opportunities.

2^nd step: learning more language

I know that if I want to get more opportunities, I should understand more language besides English. Because too many students in china have a good command in English so that I cannot performance better than them in job interviewing, in that case, I want to learn another language. For example Spanish-the third language in the world, 4 million people use it. But it is learnt few by Chinese. This is my chance and the important thing I have to do. I study in New Mexico now and it is a good environment to learn Spanish because of the population of Mexican is large. If I connect them a lot, I can easily grasp this language without a teacher.

3^rd step: change my major to international relation in Graduate grade.

Language is only the beginning, if I want to get this job, I need to learn amount of professional knowledge of that and get good grade. This is the important part and I cannot do the work well without the knowledge I learnt in the university.

4^th step: getting a lot of social experience

The job of diplomatist is needed to get touch with people with different personalities. So have to make the change to get in touch with many kinds of people. The best way is to get a part time job about my major here. If I have a lot of experiences while the university, I can easily do everything well after graduate.

These four step is most important and I will insist on my dream that to a diplomatist. I know this is just the beginning and there is a long distance to success, but I have a confident to my future destiny and make my dream come true.

A KNIGHT’S TALE

A summary of the movie “ A knight’s tale”.

The movie “ A knight’s tale “ tells about a story that William pretend his master join the knight competition, and his was successes at last.

In this movie, William pretends Ulrich and hiding his identity to be a knight. After his master was dead, de decided to attend the competition although he was a normal people at that time. Because he had a dream that to be a knight one day, this is an opportunity for him to make his dream come true.

After that, he practices a lot and won the games every time. With he became more and more famous, many people jealous him very much.  Once the price attends the game and no one wants to join without William. He is so brave and full with confident. The price likes him very much. When the time he back to his hometown, he met his father. In that case, his opponent found his real identity. He would face to killed. However, the price free him gave him another chance to prove himself.

I think it is a great action for William’s pretend.  We all know that there is a level separate in old England.  He proved that no matter you are a nobility or civilian, all you can get a good job and attend the competition.

This tells us everyone has the right to get equal and everyone can make their dream come true if they have the confidents to try.  In nowadays, there are also some events that are unfair.  But we can fight for our rights. That is why there are lots of revolution in the history. “A Knight’ tale” give us an example to learn. And this movie also makes us full of confidents in the future.

PAGE 1 STORY ONE

I’m  Mr. Windblack-Mary’ stepfather, I just married with her mother.  I’m very happy that Mary is very rich and I can control her money before she married. However, she is over 20 years old and even don’t have a boyfriend. She is so nervous about this that she said she could marry anybody if the man agreed. I don’t want mary married because of the money. She had a lot of money and I can’t control it after she set up her own family. If she do that, my wife and i must give her money that belongs her already. And if i do noy do something, Mary can easily married with some other guy.

 I decided to make up named angle and meet Mary at the dance party, and let Mary fall in love with me. In this case, mary can’t be marry with others. I talk about this idea with my wife. She disagree at the first time and got angry with me. I said to her that if we let Mary go, we had no money, and her could not give money to us always time.  My wife think it over, we decide to do this.

At first, this action goes well, and Mary fall in love with me quickly, but she always ask me about my wearing. I have to tell her that I got a disease. She believed me then we got engaged and decided the date that we married. This is the best way to control her. At the date of the married. I disappeared and never shows. Mary is very nervous about that and she find the holmes to find me and sovle this problem.

But i’m not scared because he can’t find a man that never existence. On that day holmes call me to met him at 6. When I get there he expose me that I was that man. I was surprised that how can holmes find it. And he said that he compare the type writting between me and angle. The type writting is same. But he did not tell my daughter about that. I was rejoiced because of that. And i think I have to get another chance to control that money……
